Michael Lane is the lead lighting specialist at the Lighting Design Lab and has been with the Lab since its inception in 1989. He received Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University in 1982, and has specialized in the lighting field for over 25 years. He has worked for lighting design firms in New York City from 1982-1983, in Boston from 1984-1985 & in Seattle with his own firm from 1986 until starting at the Lighting Lab. Michael is a member of the IESNA and was in the first class to be Lighting Certified (LC) by NCQLP. He serves on the IESNA Educational Materials, Sustainable Lighting, Outdoor Environmental Lighting & Energy Management Committees, the ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Committee and the LEED Sustainable Sites Committee. In 2004 Michael received the IESNA Section Meritorious Service Award and the IESNA Presidential Award.
